The Sugar Debate Goes On
Please read . . .
Apologies that I have been quiet of late - the Christmas run up was extremely busy and since then I have been doing more work on the big sugar question. I have no doubt that you are aware of the increased debate on the sugar issues so I have been doing some analysis work just on jams and marmalades.
I have published this on The Guild of Jam & Preserve Makers' site with links from here:-
The Sugar Debate
There are some websites that you might to look at and I am sure you will find many more once you start looking into the subject.
I would be very interested on your views on this subject and also any other products that you find I haven't listed - I only have the ones from my local supermarkets. What I think is clear from this very short survey is the need for separate regulations for our superior artisanal products. I am also working with Trading Standards on a voluntary Quality Assurance Scheme for artisanal production and I will bring you more news of this as soon as I can. I feel strongly that consumers must be able to differentiate between our quality products and the commercial products easily , without having to read the complicated ingredients lists which are designed to confuse.
So, plenty of homework to do!
