How beautiful is the humble elderflower? I will show you - picked this morning outside my back door with Dolly Day Dream at my feet pecking at her corn on the cob - life doesn't get sweeter. There are few words for this wonder of nature and I am sure that the prodigious pollen on the flowers must qualify as Fairy Dust . . . I wrote an extensive blog this time last year, with the science, history and recipes - just click on to Elderflowers in the list to the right and you can read it again. There are also recipes on my m.rosimakesjam.com recipe site.
We also have lots of offers on Love Jars for the small milk bottles - they have been reduced in price and now come in 10's for 59p each, 35s for 39p each and 70s for 37p each - don't forget to order your lid of choice. So get making, great for a party or a wedding - or just drinking! These past two weeks have, in one sense, been the worst we've experienced in recent years.
You may have experienced problems with one or two of our websites recently - we have experienced problems with all of them, plus the other sites that are managed by Trev - all 50 of them! A corruption had occurred on our hard drive storage which is managed remotely on our own dedicated server by our Service Provider. No problem, we thought, we have back up - except that the back up had dutifully copied the corruption !!!! Basically, we had no reliable data that could be accessed easily, no emails, no messaging service - complete silence in fact. Can you imagine no emails for over seven days? Trev worked around the clock, using back up data that was accessed by the Service Provider from the previous back up to the corrupted one - but it all had to loaded manually, in DOS - if you even remember what that was like! It has been absolutely horrendous and how Trev has kept sane I shall never know. Working round the clock, eating in front of his screen, somehow a miracle has happened and all is restored. So, if you have been inconvenienced we apologise. If you would like to order then everything is now fine and to say sorry for delays please use the discount code MELTDOWN10 for a welcome back discount. I never want to live through that again! |
