Bit of a serious little blog here folks - then it will be business as usual with recipes, ideas, news and fun.
I need to finally tell you that Trevor and I are no longer connected to Jam Jar Shop Ltd in any way. Around 2 years ago we were approached by a local company to us offering business advice and funding to bolster our surprisingly successful little jar company. We took them at face value and to cut a long and painful story short, were totally taken in and eventually cornered by them. It was apparently their plan to take the company over - a plan that was foiled by some legal shenanigans - but we were unable to avoid going into liquidation. Jam Jar Shop was bought by the present company and we were retained with our expectation being that we would still help to develop and build on the success we had started. We, after all, unique expertise in two specialist areas - preserving and e-commerce, a formidable team. However, I was dispensed with by email last March and Trevor continued to work alone, on the website and with stock and IT advice. Until 30 September - Trevor was locked out of the website with no notice and all contact severed. I have no comment to make on this other than to make you aware that any classes booked from the Jam Jar Shop website will not be visible to me. I would hate bookings to be made and for you to turn up at The Old Smithy with the possibility that I would not be there. So, in future please make any contact or bookings through my new website www.rosiemakesjam.com where the classes are actually cheaper than before. My recipes will still appear on the Jam Jar Shop Ltd site as they were considered part of the sale - I can't do anything about that but my new recipe site is much more comprehensive. Of course, m.rosiemakesjam.com also has a very useful feature where you are able to scale the recipe to the quantity of your main ingredients. I will be adding more all the time so check back regularly. I will endeavour to offer the things on this website that I know many of you enjoyed in Jam Jar Shop days with plenty of information and advice. There are lots of other plans in the pipeline which, of course, we will tell you about as soon as we can. My Twitter account is still @rosiemakesjam and Facebook is Rosie Makes It Easy - do keep in touch . . . .please! Onward and upward!
